THE PRESIDENT WHO CALS HIMSELF A BUILDER CAN'T EVEN MAKE A WALL THAT STANDS

History has examples of walls that have stood over generations, sometimes hundreds of years. Some examples of that would be the Great Wall of China, Hadrians Wall, and the Antonine Wall. Naturally they are not as complete as they once were. You could excuse some crumbling due to age. Some walls last only a short time. The Berlin Wall exists only in memory, with a short portion kept for historical record. It was torn down by an irate citizenry after the German Democratic Republic (which wasn't democratic) collapsed. The French, Maginot Line is an example of a wall that was oversold and underperformed. 

President Trumps border wall may exist in that realm; oversold, underperformed. A portion of the California wall has just collapsed, underperforming even the Maginot Line. Like Hadrians Wall and the 
Antonine wall it is constructed to keep people out. In their case, the walls were to prevent invasions from marauding Celtic clansmen on the Roman cities of what is now England. In the case of the Trump wall, it's to keep out desperate people's seaking refuge. The Maginot Line was constructed to keep out the unsophisticated tanks of World War I. By the time it was finished the technology of tank construction had evolved to include the German Panzer tank. Even so, it lasted longer that the portion of Trumps Wall that just collapsed. 

Perhaps it should not surprise us when something Trump, or his party oversell, or underperform.

Donald Trump, the great builder of edifices (and let's be clear, Trump does not admit to ever being less than great), cannot seem to build a wall to outlast even the Maginot Line. He can't even build a wall that would last longer than his bankrupt casino's.

FOUR RAZORS THAT EVERYBODY NEEDS.

     There are certain people who, without thinking very hard themselves, think they know enough to lecture the rest of us. Many of those people can be found in the party that believes there is something bad about being woke. This is where someone from that other party defensively exclaims, "but they're all the same". MY EX'S DOG LOVES ME

     My ex's dog likes me. An extreme like. Aww hell, call it love. When I drive up to their driveway, Wilbur is waiting, anxious for the  backdoor to open. When he is released he rushes my car, his hind parts moving rapidly from side to side. I'm a cat person. When we were married we had cats and a dog, all rescues. When we split up, I went petless for many years. Pinkie, my girlfriend who passed on a few years ago, wanted a cat. We were sharing a cabin cruiser on the Willamette River. The cat, Gracie, became all mine when Pinky went into assisted living and later hospice care. Gracie had gravitated to me anyway. Animals don't feel obliged to be what we want them to be.        I don't think it's possible not to love a dog or cat.
