HISTORY IS BESMIRCHED BY POLITICIANS WHO BELIEVE THAT, "HISTORY IS WRITTEN BY THE WINNERS."

     Attorney General William Barr may be the most corrupt Attorney General since Harry M Daugherty, President Warren Hardings AG. In Daugherty's defense, he at least worked to get Presidential pardons for jailed anti-war protesters such as Eugene V. Debbs, a level of compassion not recently on display from Trumps cabinet or the leaders of his party. Barr, who is both Consigliari to the Trump crime family and the head of the American peoples justice department, cannot serve both constituents. He has made protecting the most ethically challenged administration in recent history his goal.
     Next to Sen.Ted Cruz, Barr personifies that German word, backfeifengesicht, which translates to: "a face that needs to be punched". Recently he opined, with that face that needs to be punched, that "history is written by the winners" when asked how historians will view the justice department. This question was prompted by the decision not to prosecute yet another Trump campaign official with uncomfortable ties to Russia and its Premier, Vladimir Putin. 
     This trope, history is written by the winners, has never been used in a complimentary way. It is an example of the abuse of power. When used in the context of a costitutional democracy where the governed are allowed to elect the governors, it is a full throated "fuck off" to the minority party. It says unambiguously that abuse of power is acceptable in pursuit of electoral office, that an electoral defeat requires complete capitulation by the losing side. This allowed Richard Nixon to form his merry gang of "dirty tricksters", which brought such practitioners of the dark arts of political fraud as Jerome Corsi, and Roger Stone to our present day political sphere, and the new generation led by James O'Keefe and Jacob Wohl. The latter has tried to impugn the reputation of Robert Mueller and Anthony Fauci by bringing fraudulent charges of sexual harassment. The woman bringing the allegations against Fauci has admitted that she was paid to make the claims. The former charge was dropped when the accusation was made through Wohls mothers' computer. That republicans are unfazed by such open dishonesty is the reason our Attorney General believes that, "history is written by the winners." 
     Fortunately, historians are not in the habit of writing hagiography. This administration is giving birth to a generation of historians who will be filing Freedom of Information requests far into our future. With a small degree of luck, future administrations will be less inclined to hide Trump from justice.

FOUR RAZORS THAT EVERYBODY NEEDS.

     There are certain people who, without thinking very hard themselves, think they know enough to lecture the rest of us. Many of those people can be found in the party that believes there is something bad about being woke. This is where someone from that other party defensively exclaims, "but they're all the same". MY EX'S DOG LOVES ME

     My ex's dog likes me. An extreme like. Aww hell, call it love. When I drive up to their driveway, Wilbur is waiting, anxious for the  backdoor to open. When he is released he rushes my car, his hind parts moving rapidly from side to side. I'm a cat person. When we were married we had cats and a dog, all rescues. When we split up, I went petless for many years. Pinkie, my girlfriend who passed on a few years ago, wanted a cat. We were sharing a cabin cruiser on the Willamette River. The cat, Gracie, became all mine when Pinky went into assisted living and later hospice care. Gracie had gravitated to me anyway. Animals don't feel obliged to be what we want them to be.        I don't think it's possible not to love a dog or cat.
